What the brewing unit motor does

The motor is an electric drive (sometimes with a gearbox) that provides the mechanical movement of the brewing unit or related mechanism in an automatic coffee machine. Thanks to it, the unit moves into the working position, presses the coffee puck, and after the drink is prepared, releases and empties it again.

Signs of wear or failure

• The coffee machine reports a brewing unit error or gets stuck during preparation
• Unusual sounds, buzzing or clicking come from the motor area
• The unit cannot fully extend, retract, or does not respond at all
• Coffee preparation stops or restarts repeatedly without result

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

A worn or damaged motor can cause coffee preparation to stop completely, or mechanically damage other parts of the brewing unit. Timely replacement prevents bigger failures and unnecessary repair costs.
