What is the coffee grounds container

The grounds container is a bin that collects used coffee grounds after hot water flows through the ground coffee. It sits beneath the brewing unit and gathers residue that would otherwise clog the inside of the coffee machine.

Signs of wear or damage

A cracked or leaking container causes water and coffee grounds to seep outside the designated space, leading to moisture at the bottom of the machine and an unpleasant smell. The coffee machine may also report a full container error even when it has just been emptied, if the sensor doesn't sit correctly due to a deformed container.

When it's time for a replacement

A damaged container increases the risk of leakage into the electronics and mechanical parts of the coffee machine, which can lead to a more serious fault. Timely replacement keeps the inside of the machine dry and clean and prevents recurring error messages.
