What is the water tank

The water tank is the reservoir from which the coffee machine draws water to prepare coffee, as well as to produce steam or hot water. It is part of the water circuit, and its tightness and condition directly affect the operation of the entire appliance.

When the part stops doing its job

• Cracks or leaks through which water escapes under the coffee machine
• Loose or damaged lid that no longer seals tightly
• Limescale build-up or dirty walls affecting the taste of the coffee
• The coffee machine reports insufficient water even with a full tank due to a damaged sensor or leaking cap

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

A damaged or leaking tank can cause water to leak inside the coffee machine, leading to further electronic or mechanical faults. A limescaled or damaged tank also negatively affects the taste of the prepared coffee.
