What is a Venturi valve

The Venturi valve is part of the steam or milk-frothing system in a coffee machine. It uses the flow of steam or air to create a vacuum that draws milk or water into the nozzle. This principle allows automatic milk frothing or system rinsing to work without a separate pump.

When the part stops doing its job

When the Venturi valve or the solenoid valve within its assembly loses tightness or becomes clogged, it shows up as weak or irregular milk suction, insufficient foam, dripping, or a complete failure of the automatic frother. Sometimes an unusual hissing sound can also be heard, caused by steam escaping outside its proper path.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

A damaged valve puts unnecessary strain on other components of the steam circuit and can lead to uneven pressure or to milk residue clogging other parts. Timely replacement keeps the frothing system running smoothly and prevents bigger repairs.
