What is a vacuum coffee canister
A vacuum canister is used to store ground or whole bean coffee outside the coffee machine. By creating negative pressure inside, it limits the access of air to the beans or ground coffee, slowing down its aging and loss of aroma.
Signs of improper storage
If the coffee loses its aroma quickly, tastes stale or bitter just a few days after opening the package, it may be related to a leaking or damaged canister lid. A cracked lid, a worn valve, or a seal that no longer holds vacuum cause air and moisture to get inside faster than they should.
When it's time for a replacement
A functional vacuum canister extends the freshness of coffee and protects it from moisture and surrounding odors. If the original canister loses its seal, it is worth replacing it before it affects the taste of the prepared beverage.
How to choose the right canister
- Check compatibility with your coffee machine in the product table.
- Choose the volume based on how much coffee you usually store at once.
- Check whether the canister allows easy creation and release of vacuum.
