What is a T-connector and what is it for

A T-connector is a T-shaped hose fitting that distributes liquid or steam from one hose into two directions, or conversely joins two inlets into one. In a coffee machine it is used in the water, steam or condensate circuits where the flow needs to be split without an additional pump or valve.

How to spot wear

As the material ages or is exposed to mechanical stress, the joint can loosen, crack or lose its seal at one of the three outlets. This typically results in water leaking in unexpected places, a drop in circuit pressure, dripping under the machine, or irregular water or steam flow that affects the quality of the coffee prepared.

When it's time for a replacement
