What is a pressure switch and what is it for

A pressure switch is a component that monitors the pressure or temperature in the coffee machine's circuit and, based on a set value, switches the heating or pump on or off. Thanks to it, the system maintains the stable pressure needed for correct coffee extraction or steam preparation.

Signs of wear or malfunction

• Fluctuating or too low/high pressure during brewing
• The coffee machine keeps overheating or, conversely, fails to reach operating temperature
• Frequent clicking of the relay or, conversely, no reaction at all when pressure changes
• Error messages related to pressure or temperature on the display

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

A faulty or inaccurate pressure switch causes uneven coffee quality, increased wear of the heating element, and in the worst case can lead to overheating or damage to other components. Timely replacement protects the coffee machine from a bigger failure and keeps the taste of the drink consistent.
