What is a steam nozzle and what is it for

The steam nozzle is part of the coffee machine's frothing system. It carries hot steam from the boiler out of the appliance and lets you use it to froth or heat milk for cappuccino, latte, or other milk-based coffee. Steam disperses into the milk through small openings at its tip, creating fine microfoam.

Signs of wear

If the nozzle is clogged with dried milk or limescale, steam flows unevenly, frothing becomes weak or noisy, and the milk heats up more slowly. A damaged or corroded nozzle surface can also cause steam to leak outside the nozzle or produce an uneven flow.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

A worn or damaged nozzle worsens the quality of frothed milk foam and can put extra strain on the coffee machine's steam system. Replacing it in time restores smooth, quiet frothing and extends the life of the other parts of the frothing system.
