What is a microswitch holder

The microswitch holder is a small plastic part that keeps the microswitch in the exact position needed so it can reliably respond to the movement of the door, water tank, or another moving element of the coffee machine. Thanks to it, the coffee machine recognizes whether the given part is properly closed or inserted, and allows or stops the brewing process accordingly.

Signs of wear or damage

If the holder is cracked, bent, or missing part of its material, the microswitch cannot reach the correct position. The coffee machine may then report that the tank or door is not closed even though it actually is, or conversely start brewing when it shouldn't. This is usually shown as an error message on the display or as a complete refusal to start brewing.
