What is a water level probe

The water level probe is a sensing element located in the boiler or tank of the coffee machine that monitors the water level and signals the electronics when to refill water or stop pumping. Without a properly functioning probe, the machine cannot reliably maintain the amount of water needed to prepare coffee and steam.

Signs of wear or malfunction

• The boiler overfills or, conversely, remains almost empty
• The coffee machine reports a lack of water even though the tank is full
• Irregular water refilling, frequent pump switching on and off
• Fluctuations in temperature and pressure affecting coffee extraction quality

Why replace the probe in time

A worn or dirty probe can cause the boiler to overheat, run dry, or conversely overfill and leak water. Timely replacement protects other components from unnecessary strain and prevents machine downtime during operation.
