What is a steam and water lever valve

The lever valve controls the flow of steam or hot water from the coffee machine. It opens and closes via a lever which, through an internal mechanism, releases or blocks the pressure of the medium heading to the nozzle. It is used for frothing milk as well as for dispensing hot water for tea or other purposes.

When the part stops doing its job

A worn or damaged valve shows itself through steam or water leaking even in the closed position, a lever that is either stiff or too loose, an irregular steam flow, or a loud hissing sound. Limescale deposits are also common and prevent the valve from opening smoothly.

When it's time for a replacement

A leaking valve means loss of pressure, unnecessary steam waste, and imprecise dosing when frothing milk. Long-term overloading of a damaged mechanism can also damage nearby parts of the steam or water circuit.
