Coffee machine control keypad

The control keypad is the panel through which the operator selects the individual coffee or water preparation programs, starts dispensing, and communicates with the machine's control electronics. It contains buttons or touch sensors connected to a board that evaluates the input and sends a signal to start the function.

Typical signs of wear

• Buttons respond with a delay or do not respond at all
• Some programs start on their own or fail to finish
• Backlight flickers, goes out, or is uneven
• The coffee machine reports a control-related error or stops accepting commands

A worn or damaged keypad limits control over beverage preparation, which can lead to incorrect dosing of water or coffee and inconsistent taste of the resulting drink. Moisture, frequent use, and mechanical wear of the contacts gradually reduce the reliability of the controls, so it is worth replacing the panel before it stops working completely.
