What is a portafilter stand

A portafilter stand is a support base that holds the portafilter in a stable position away from the coffee machine. It is used when dosing coffee, tamping or weighing a dose on a precision scale, when you need your hands free and the portafilter resting safely without the risk of tipping over or damaging the work surface.
