What is a cup tray

The cup tray, sometimes called a cup rest or cup holder, is a component of the coffee machine located above the drip tray or on the top of the machine. It is used to hold and preheat cups before brewing coffee, helping the drink stay warm longer after pouring.

Signs of wear

Over time, the surface of the tray can become scratched, deformed by heat, or cracked, especially in plastic or lacquered versions. A loose fitting causes creaking or shifting of the tray during handling, and a cracked surface can trap moisture and dirt that is difficult to remove.

When it's time for a replacement

A damaged or unstable tray increases the risk of cups slipping and coffee spilling, and it can also affect the appearance and hygiene of the coffee machine. Replacing it in time prevents further wear to the surrounding parts that the tray rests on.
