What is the thermal fuse of the heating element

The thermal fuse is a safety component located directly on the heating element of the coffee machine. Its role is to cut off the electrical current the moment the element's temperature exceeds a safe limit, protecting the coffee machine and its surroundings from overheating or fire.

Signs of a fault

A damaged or blown fuse most often shows up as the coffee machine no longer heating up, the water failing to reach the correct temperature, or the appliance not starting at all when switched on. Sometimes a heating-related error message appears, or the appliance repeatedly switches itself off.

Why timely replacement pays off

This is a one-time protective component – once it has triggered, it usually cannot be reset and must be replaced with a new one. Delaying the replacement means the coffee machine won't work at all, or worse, the heating element will keep being overloaded without this protection.
