What a cover cap is and what it's for

A small cover cap or cover conceals a screw, nut or other fastener on the body of the coffee machine. Its job is to protect the joint from moisture and dirt while also covering the visible head of the screw or nut, so the surface of the machine looks neat and complete.

Typical signs of wear

Over time, the cap can lose its flexibility, crack or come loose and fall off. A missing cap exposes the metal joint underneath, which is then exposed to moisture from steam and water, potentially leading to corrosion damage. A loose or missing cap also looks unsightly and may indicate that the fastener beneath it is gradually working loose.

Why replace this part in time

Replacing a damaged or missing cap is a simple way to protect the screw joint and extend the lifespan of the parts beneath it. It also prevents moisture and dirt from getting into the machine's internal structure.
