What is the protective rubber sleeve

The protective rubber sleeve or grip is fitted onto the metal parts of the coffee machine that heat up during operation, such as levers or steam and hot water pipes. Its role is to keep the operator's hand away from the hot metal while also improving grip when handling the machine.

When the part stops doing its job

Over time, the rubber hardens, cracks, or starts to come away from the metal core. You may notice slipping when gripping it, visible cracks on the surface, or a loss of its original flexibility. In this condition, the sleeve no longer provides reliable protection, and there is a risk of burns from contact with the hot part.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement
