What is the brew group shower screen

The shower screen is a metal mesh located in the brewing unit, through which hot water flows during coffee preparation. Its role is to evenly distribute water through the ground coffee while catching coffee residue so it doesn't get into the coffee machine's system.

When the part stops doing its job

Over time, the holes in the shower screen become clogged with coffee oils and residue, which slows down water flow and changes the taste of the coffee. A clogged or damaged shower screen also shows up as uneven extraction, weak foam, dripping outside the cup, or increased noise from the brewing unit during preparation.

When it's time for a replacement

A clogged or deformed shower screen puts strain on the entire brewing mechanism and can even cause coffee machine error messages related to pressure or water flow. Regular replacement helps maintain consistent coffee quality and prevents bigger brewing unit failures.
