What is the cover strip

The cover strip is an additional plastic or metal element that covers the joint between individual parts of the coffee machine's body, or reinforces and holds an adjacent cover or panel in place. Its purpose is to protect the interior of the appliance from dust and moisture, while keeping movable or removable parts in the correct position.

How to spot wear

Over time, the strip can crack, lose its flexibility, or come loose from its mounting. This shows up as play in the cover, it falling out, imperfect seating of the water tank or another panel, or visible damage on the surface of the appliance.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

A damaged or missing strip weakens the mounting of neighbouring parts, which can cause them to seat incorrectly, increase wear on surrounding components, or allow moisture to get inside the coffee machine. Timely replacement keeps the cover and adjacent parts firmly in place.
